Jean Marie Brittingham - Founder
Jean founded SmartGirls Way after a 17-yr career in business. While working as a consultant to some of the world’s largest brands, Jean began to see a significant need for the unique views and attributes that women can bring to the design of a sustainable future. Fueled by her passion and driven by integrity, Jean established The SmartGirls Way and began creating the products and approaches to help rapidly scale the women’s entrepreneurial movement to create the next economy--an economy designed as if the future matters.

Julia Detering - Content Director
As Content Director, Julia focuses on bringing relevant and informative information about and for women entrepreneurs to the SmartGirls Way website. She is the founder of Wooded Isle Press, a micro-publisher in Seattle. As a freelance writer and web developer she authors white papers and case studies for technology companies and develops websites for small business. Under the pen name J. D. Rader, she co-authored the book, Breaking News: A Novel, currently available on Amazon.com. She is about to launch a new project, Read Along America, a website committed to promoting unity and dialogue in the United States. Because, "Everyone can rally around a great book!"
Anna Ferkingstad - Teen Contributor
Anna Ferkingstad is a high school student in Seattle, Washington. She loves to write and is currently the News Editor on her school's award winning paper. When she is not writing or doing homework, she loves taking photos and playing soccer. She is also actively involved in her community through her participation in school clubs, such as Key Club and as secretary of National Honor Society. She is very excited to work with SmartGirls Way and to learn more about the entrepreneurial world.
